About the Management

The thing about Honey and Bea doing a creative project together is that they are both very much the same, in that they both have the same strengths and weaknesses. Good taste, a desire to excel, and short attention spans. Which means if they are left to their own devices, they'll pretty much dissolve into an blustery homunculus that consists entirely of inside jokes and stroked egos.

The idea for this blog started out as a joke, as they were convinced they had nothing interesting to say. To the contrary, however, they received a lot of encouragement from friends and family to start this project. No one who knows Honey and Bea really believes they're robots. (Except, of course, for the other one.) Both resisted at first because the each would validate the fears and insecurities in the other. They needed a force in their creative lives to make them get over themselves and toss something on a page, to see if they could properly cook this noodle.

Finally, Management stepped, and in a quiet, unassuming voice asked, "So, are you guys actually doing this or what?" Unsure why that simple question was so different from all the others who asked, they took the first steps into getting a blog up and running. Perhaps its because Management, who has known Bea for so long (and Honey too, though neither knew it) really grasped how hard it would be to herd these particular cats.  Perhaps its because he so readily earned the respect of both parties with his particular wit and insight. Honey thinks its because Management is just being the drive he wished for when he was first learning to be creative. Bea thinks its because he truly believes that writers need to write.

But whatever the reason, both know that he understands the hesitation they have, because creativity puts a little bit of yourself on the line, requires a bit of introspection, and to genuinely confront yourself. The Management makes them accountable to their humanity, and is simply not buying what they're selling.

And they're both the better for it.
